One day I took the girls to Scott's office downtown. They were fascinated with his speaker phone and all the pictures he had of us on his desk. But the highlight of the tour was the pile of sticky notes they found near a binder. Scott explained that when he finds something important in a file he marks it with a small sticky note. He proceeded to stick the small papers on the girls' shirts saying that they were the most important things of all. What a great dad!

Blessed Are the Quiltmaker's Children, For They Shall Inherit Quilts!
Many of you have been in my home and seen my collection of beautiful quilts. I have one from my Great Grandma Bagley. I have one from my Grandma June. I have one from my cousin Abby. I have one from JCPenneys. I have a few from the Quilt Shop. I've even attempted to make a few myself. However, the vast majority of my quilts were made with love by my wonderful MIL Janice. She is truly an artist. I can't believe how many quilts she has made. After Scott proposed, Janice had her own proposal for me. She asked me to go to the fabric store to pick out a pattern and fabric for my very first JLR original. By the end of that shopping trip we had enough fabrics and patterns to make two gorgeous quilts for our bed.
Before I had even met Scott, Janice had made two darling little girl twin quilts. Her prophetic creations were perfect for her first two granddaughters. Each girl has had a quilt to hang on her nursery wall. Each girl now has a comfort quilt at the end of her bed. With their grandma's plethora of quilts, my lucky girls get to pick out a new quilt to wrap up in the van on our way home from grandma's house every Sunday night. We take those quilts back the next Sunday so another one can be picked for the week. Last year when I was obsessing over decorating my "big wall" in the great room, Janice quickly and humbly offered to make a quilt to fill up the space.
What a talent. I am so grateful that she has helped me make this house comfortable, warm and beautiful. Thank you, Janice! We love you!
